Year 6 Adventure Weekend

42 Year 6 pupils embarked on a New Forest Adventure on Saturday 12th June. Leaving early by minibus they travelled to Brockenhurst to pick up bikes and start their 13 mile cycle trip around the Ornamental cycle route. The group encountered some friendly New Forest ponies on the way and took the rope swing challenge over the Bolderford Bridge. All the group completed the cycle challenge and were glad to relax after a long day in the saddle. The group descended on Fernycorfts campsite, near Lyndhurst and quickly set up camp in readiness for a dinner date at a local Italian restaurant. The finest tagliatelle, meatballs and ice cream were served to the group before the highlight of the day – the England v USA game. The group took over the Beaulieu road Inn and the atmosphere was great as the pupils cheered on the team. Sunday morning was greeted with Mr Melrose’s famous barbequed bacon sandwiches before the children attempted the ‘Gladiator Challenge and the ‘Leap of faith’ on the centre’s high ropes course. The children returned exhausted but proud of their achievements.
