Mimi Kelson

Year 5 went to Hampton Court as part of our study of the Tudors. Mimi Kelson wrote:

One of my favourite parts was the Chapel Royal.  The Chapel Royal was amazing and one of my favourite places because it was very beautiful and you could imagine Henry VIII sitting on the balcony looking down at the services.  The ceiling was stunning, a lovely blue with lots of gold detail there was an organ on the platform at the side and at the back a balcony divided into three, where Henry and his family would have sat in Tudor times.  On the floor of the chapel there were black and white tiles and underneath these were the original Tudor tiles.  The alter was covered in white cloth and on it was a golden cross.  There were seats at the side of the chapel and at the back was a book that told you Prince Edward was christened in the chapel.

Pupils have also produced beautiful collage miniatures as part of this topic.
