First Year Pupil Selected for National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain

A first Year pupil has been selected to join the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain (NCO) in 2027.

She was delighted to be offered a place following a competitive audition process earlier this year, which involved children from across the United Kingdom. As part of the audition, she performed two contrasting pieces of music alongside challenging orchestral excerpts set by the NCO auditions panel.

She will join the violin section of the NCO’s U12 orchestra. Throughout 2027, she will attend training residencies and perform in concerts as part of the full symphony orchestra.

A typical residency day will involve more than seven hours of full and sectional rehearsals, led by an experienced conductor and a team of instrumental tutors.

She has been playing the violin since she was five years old. She is a Music Scholar at Churcher’s College and also enjoys playing the piano and singing.

Congratulations on this fantastic achievement, and we look forward to following her progress with the NCO in 2027.
