OC Jack Plumridge (13) raises over £2,600 for local charity, Dreams Come True

Jack founded AfterBurn Fitness (offering personal training, fitness classes and personalised training programmes) based in Liphook, in 2016.

Just before Christmas 2020, on one of the shortest days of the year, Old Churcherian Jack Plumridge completed a 24 hour running challenge. Jack ran four miles every four hours for 24 hours completing a total of 28 miles as planned.  He has raised a phenomenal £2,600 so far for Dreams come True which is a fantastic total for the charity whose funds have been hit hard, as have so many charities, by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking about the challenge, Jack said: "By far one of the hardest things I’ve ever done."

Jack explained that he usually does a fundraiser every year for the charity, a cause that is close to his heart, but with the challenges that the coronavirus pandemic presented he couldn’t undertake any of his usual activities. He therefore came up with the idea of a running challenge well out of his usual comfort zone. Each four miles took 30 to 40 minutes allowing Jack just over three hours to stretch, rest, eat and sleep before the next run.  In order not to get bored, Jack planned seven routes around his local area.

Well done to Jack!
