We’re excited to be offering Churcher’s College Junior School children Balanceability sessions from September for children in Reception (September starters) and Year 1 (January starters). The sessions will run weekly at school.

Balanceability is the UK’s first accredited ‘learn to cycle’ programme, specially designed for children aged 2½ and up. It helps little ones build confidence, spatial awareness and balance – all while having loads of fun! The goal is to get children confidently riding a two-wheeled bike without ever needing stabilisers. In fact, research shows 94% of children aged 4–6 can ride a bike independently after completing the course.

Led by our very own Mr Oldman, a qualified instructor, sessions will include fun activities, games and challenges to build skills and confidence step by step.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing the children take part and develop their cycling skills,” explains Ffion Robinson, Head Teacher at Churcher’s College Junior School & Nursery. “Not only will this help our children learn to ride, it will also improve balance, coordination, core strength and agility. Perhaps most importantly, it will boost the children’s confident through achievement and play.”

We are on the lookout for any donations of balance bikes or first pedal bikes to help make the sessions accessible for everyone. If you have any tucked away at home that is no long needed, we would be so grateful to give it a new lease of life.
