Remembrance at the Junior School

Remembrance was this week's topic during the Junior School Assembly and we thought about the way in which we hold precious mementoes close to us as ways of being thankful to those who have shaped our lives.

Headteacher Mrs Robinson shared with the children a few of her mementoes of family members and some treasured items leading onto the symbol of the poppy, reminding us to be thankful for those who have helped shaped our future and world in which we live.

Many of you will have seen our social media post this week sharing our own Armistice Day assembly on the field on Wednesday.  Apart from our statutory termly fire drill at the beginning of term, it was the first time since then where the whole school community gathered.  We all felt immensely proud of the pupils’ conduct as they held the 2 minutes’ silence and, just when we could not feel any more pride, Tom S in Year 5 played the Last Post.  What resolve he showed in front of the whole school. We have amazing children here. Thanks to Miss Stone for organising this event.
