Pupils at Churcher’s College Junior School & Nursery have collaborated with children from their chosen charity The Kings Arms to create a calico/drawn patchwork quilt depicting their dreams, with each child drawing their individual dream on a square.

Quilt of Dreams

The patches were sewn together over the Easter holidays and this giant quilt of over 260 squares can be seen in the window of the art shop ‘Sew Creative’ in Petersfield as part of a vintage-themed exhibition which is currently taking place in the town.

The Kings Arms is a Petersfield charity which runs a range of clubs and activities to help local young people fulfil their potential and realise their own worth.  The quilt, as well as a mufti day taking place this Friday 27 April, is part of their overall fundraising activities for the charity which has so far reached over £1400 this academic year.

Mandy May, Target Work Manager at The Kings Arms, said, “Wow, how amazing! Thank you very much to the pupils and families for all their contributions. It makes such a difference.”

The vintage art show, which features artwork from various schools in the area, is taking place in Petersfield between 23rd April – 5th May, with the following shops and organisations taking part:  Madeleine’s Kitchen, One Tree Books, Sue Ryder Shop, The Fabric House, The Great British Cake Shop, Sew Creative, Bunch’s, Petersfield Library and Petersfield Museum.
