With two competitions in two weeks, it was a busy end to the Spring half term for Team Forbes.

Following their success of six medals at the National Kyu Grade Championships, they have been back in action representing Karate England at the WUKF British Open Championships, competing against top-level competitors from across the UK.

Rosalie (Year 5 at Churcher’s Junior School and Nursery) won a silver medal in individual kumite and a bronze medal in team kumite. Evelyn (Second Year at Churcher’s Senior School) won a gold medal in team kata, and Matt (Head of Sport and Outdoor Learning at Churcher’s Junior School and Nursery) won a silver medal in team kumite and a bronze medal in individual kumite.

With over 700 athletes competing in multiple events, the age group categories were large and the trio were simply looking forward to enjoying the experience. However, to win five medals between the three of them is something the family are very proud of.
