The Computing Department's ongoing collaboration with the Junior School, through activities and projects, has helped ease the transition for Junior pupils moving into the Senior School.

This culminated in the Spring Term, when all of Year 6 visited the Senior School to participate in a special competition event.

Computing is fundamentally about finding solutions to problems. This competition was inspired by the popular TV show 'Dragon's Den', where entrepreneurs pitch business ideas to a panel of investors. In a similar fashion, pupils were tasked with designing and presenting a product that could solve a specific problem: how to clean up the ever-increasing amounts of junk floating around in space.

Working in teams, the children came up with some amazing designs which clearly displayed excellent teamwork. It was extremely hard to choose a winner, so we ended up with a Runners-Up team too, as they both came up with such great ideas and put in a huge amount of effort.

Mrs Robinson, Headteacher at Churcher's College Junior School & Nursery, awarded prizes and certificates in assembly. The winning team were thrilled to receive a Bluetooth speaker each, with the Runners-Up each receiving a mini 3D-printed robot.
