Bronze DofE New Forest Expedition

A total of 12 teams of Third Year students trekked their way across the New Forest over two days, carrying everything they needed on their backs, in order to complete the Bronze DofE Expedition Section.

Luckily, they enjoyed dry, sunny weather, however the recent prolonged wet conditions had created bogs underfoot, with some not easy to spot,  meaning boots often getting sunk and sometimes vanishing! The groups encountered the free-roaming ponies, donkeys and cattle and enjoyed the remoteness and views.

We are grateful to the team of 17 leaders who supervised the teams and without whom it would not be possible to continue to offer Bronze DofE to all the student who choose to take part.

Looking forward to seeing the remaining nine teams take part in their expedition in May.
