Did you know only 69% of owls are nocturnal and a barn owl can hear a mouse's heartbeat from 25 feet away?  Churcher’s College First Year pupils discovered these facts along with many others whilst being amazed by the 'Raptors Display' courtesy of the birds of prey from Hawkeye Falconry.

The chance to get up close and personal with a range of feathered friends including Bluebell the Grey Owl, Mylo the Peruvian Striped Owl, Bubble the Barn Owl and Otto the Peregrine Falcon, the fastest bird in the world with a top flying speed of over 200mph!

Pupils discovered the different personalities of each bird, with much swooping over heads and excited laughter. Should they wish to, every child was given the opportunity to handle the birds.

A different way to spend a morning at school for all, many thanks to Hawkeye Falconry for visiting.
