Our Lower Sixth had a fabulous day expanding their knowledge of their Churchill A Level paper. We visited the galleries at the Imperial War Museum and were moved by the personal stories of those who lived and died during the Second World War.
We saw incredible artefacts such as bomb shelters, a boat that was used at Dunkirk, and the damaged Nazi eagle. We then walked to the Cabinet War Rooms and got a real flavour of the claustrophobia that strategists in wartime London experienced underground. The exhibition was full of excellent memorabilia from throughout Churchill’s life. A great trip!
