Greenpower Team Competes at Goodwood

On Sunday 24 May, nine students represented the school at the Greenpower heat at Goodwood, demonstrating excellent teamwork and resilience throughout the day.

This event marked the first competitive outing for a brand-new car designed and built entirely by students at Churcher’s College, making the achievement all the more significant.

All students contributed fully, sharing driving responsibilities and supporting one another across the two races. The team worked collaboratively to diagnose and resolve a number of technical issues as they arose, showing impressive problem-solving skills under pressure. The exceptionally hot conditions presented an additional challenge, leading to motor overheating and requiring on-the-spot modifications to the car, which the students tackled effectively together.

Despite these difficulties, the team performed admirably, completing a total of eight laps per race before the battery was depleted, and should be commended for their determination, cooperation and positive approach throughout the event.
