Gymnastics Club News

With the arrival of new roll-out floor mats at the end of the summer term, the gymnastics club put them straight to good use by participating in the annual Dance and LAMDA showcase. The 1st Years put on a great show, performing a group routine featuring dance, individual skills and pair balances.
To celebrate the hard work of the group over the year, they also enjoyed a trip to Portsmouth Gymnastics Centre to practise their skills in a purpose-built facility, and have some well-deserved fun!
In October, we welcomed 100 pupils from 8 different schools to take part in the first ever gymnastics competition at Churcher’s College. Ranging from years 4 to 8, gymnasts competed on floor and vault across three different levels; beginners, improvers and advanced. It was fantastic to see so many girls and boys taking part, and for many, enjoying their first experience of a competition. The gymnastics-themed cupcakes given out at the end of the competition were a big hit too!
