A group of Lower Sixth girls were delighted to be able to attend the Women of the Future Ambassadors Reception at the Aviva Headquarters, London, in May.

The Women of the Future Programme is a platform that unlocks a culture of kindness and collaboration among leaders with their portfolio of events and projects supporting and celebrating the successes of women. Led by Pinky Lilani CBE DL, they have built a remarkable, informal community of influential women determined to build professional and personal relationships with one another and to be advocates for a new generation of business leadership talent.

Our girls were thoroughly inspired by the talks, all with the theme ‘Supporting your next steps…’, from successful women (a Superintendent in the Metropolitan Police, Head of Market Access Policy for HM Treasury and HR Director for TSB). Following the reception our Ambassadors attended a networking session, a wonderful opportunity to make contacts and develop their networking skills. The girls felt it was very beneficial for them to step out of their comfort zones, but also commented that they felt completely supported and welcomed by everyone there. They particularly liked hearing the many words of wisdom from Baroness Goldie, Minister of State for Defence.

The overall consensus was that the reception had been incredibly informative and empowering; it was a fantastic opportunity to look to the future and meet some amazing mentors. Thank you so much to Women of the Future for such a great opportunity and well done to the girls for making the most of it.
