On Tuesday 7 May 2024, we were pleased to run an evening of workshops for the University of the Third Age, this time with a focus on Chemistry.

Led by Head of Chemistry, David Dunster, participants made and developed their own photographic paper and were taught how to create photograms - photographic prints made by laying objects onto photographic paper and exposing it to light.

In the first session they took blueprinting paper outside to create their photograms before taking the paper back into the lab to develop the pictures. In the second session they learnt how to make their own blue printing paper which they could use at home.

Thank you to all the keen participants for taking part.
