Some fast talking and quick thinking saw a Churcher’s team through to the quarter finals of the national English Speaking Union’s Public Speaking Competition.

Hosted by Davison High School in Worthing, the A Team, comprising of Phoebe, (a very commanding Chairperson), Thomas (master of interrogation/Questioner for the event) and Ottie (a very compelling Speaker) beat off stiff competition, with Ottie speaking on the topic, ‘Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.’

The B Team (B in name, but not in skill!) comprised of Emilia (Speaker), Felix (Questioner) and Scarlett (Chairperson). They also put in a stellar performance but were just pipped to the post.

Congratulations to our whole squad for their commitment to the competition and their amazing camaraderie throughout. It will be a collective effort from this point and we are excited to see how far our students can go this year!
