Senior Trips & Visits

Our Second Year historians enjoyed a fascinating day out at two historical venues.

Arundel Castle helped them revisit their studies on Medieval realms. They toured the Motte and Bailey, examined defensive structures such as the portcullis, and even ventured into the eerily named ‘oubliette’ dungeon. Pupils took part in a fantastic workshop where they tried on the incredibly heavy chain mail and quickly appreciated the challenges of being a medieval knight.

The second stop of the day was the fabulous Amberley Industrial Museum, where pupils were mesmerised by the electricity display, enjoyed hopping on and off the train, and took part in a workshop explaining how lime is produced from coal and chalk. They also relished some time in the café and explored the museum’s many impressive exhibitions.
