Timings: 9.30am - 12.30pm

Led by LTA coach Paul Evans, the course covers forehand and backhand strokes including top spin and slice shots; the serve and return and volley technique. It also looks at the individual swing shape, making sure it is efficient and powerful.
Please see below for details of what will covered each day:
PLEASE NOTE THIS COURSE IS NOW FULLY BOOKED.
Day One
Groundstrokes
Tailored to the abilities of each individual player, we will look at their swings and grips for flat, top spin and slice shots. We will look at making sure the legs and body are efficient and powerful to keep it flowing into the follow through. This will progress into the different contact points and stances while looking at where and when to use them.
Day Two
Serve & Return
Considered by some to be the most important shots in tennis. We have a whole morning dedicated to these shots so we can look at each key aspect. Using different teaching techniques and fun games we have many ways to improve the ball toss which is the key to any good serve. This will improve the contact point and improve accuracy.
Return- chip, block & attack! We will not only practise getting the ball in play and starting the point, but using some of the key skills they learnt on day 1 they will be taught how to use their return to attack.
Day Three
Approach, Volley and Smashes
Learning a volley technique can be easy, but making it a life time habit is a lot harder and using it under pressure is the challenge we will overcome. Forming the correct shape and using the correct grip will be first on day 3’s agenda. In an effort to groove these good shots we will look at when & how to come in to the net. The morning will be full of drills & closed points practices to encourage maximum improvement and maximum fun to leave a positive mark on their game.
